Waymo finally discovers gaming modeling and simulation technology is not adequate

“There’s a set of things that we needed to have better tooling to support,” Frankel said, “and Simulation City filled in that grid of capabilities that we needed, and makes it possible to do what was challenging before with the existing simulation tools.”

I have been saying this for four years. It’s possible Waymo gets all of it it now, but I am not so sure. Specifically, around the use of a deterministic core architecture and federated modeling. As well as creating real-world performance curves to make the models, especially for sensors. Having said that, no one else I am aware of gets it at all. So Waymo is ahead.
