Your entire premise is based on the belief that the simulation technology out there cannot model sensors and sensors interactions with the world well enough to replace most of the real-world development and testing that is occurring. And that is false. The gaming based systems you are aware of cannot. They look great but have the wrong modeling approaches and real-time architectures. Those systems can help but cannot resolve enough of the time, money and safety issues involved in using the real-world for development to save the industry. However, aerospace/DoD simulation technology can.

Time and time agian I tried to discuss this with your gaming sim lead. You won't take the meeting for the same reason the industry in driving itself into ground. Ego. Not invented here. "Conventional wisdom". Not wanting to admit your were wrong. That echo chamber nonsense is dooming this industry.
