Now Motional states it is “fully driverless” with zero proof
First Waymo, then Cruise and now Motional announce they are fully driverless with zero meaningful proof or even stating if they are even as good as a human. To include crash and edge cases.
When these folks proclaim support for the draft EU AV Type Certification or even improve on its shortcomings and release the data, they can be believed.
And how’s that Cruise “driverless” declaration working out? 60 cars freeze due to the loss of a remote connection and a whistleblower files a complaint with the state of California stating the systems are not safe nor driverless.
Below are a couple articles that explain my POV in more detail.
Cruise is remote vs “driverless”, has a whistleblower, is experiencing crashes and is losing huge sums of money — They are the tip of the iceberg
The Autonomous Vehicle Industry can be Saved by doing the Opposite of what is being done now to create this technology
Cruise, like Waymo, now says they are driverless with no proof, nor any comment on Waymo’s CA DMV lawsuit to avoid providing safety data
The EU proposes a driverless driver’s test that is pretty good — Waymo, Cruise, Gatik etc would fail it
Waymo and Cruise should prove their systems are legitimately L4
