By not providing any meaningful proof of being driverless, even fighting doing through a lawsuit, Waymo, Cruise and Gatik are misleading the public, putting their lives at risk, and collapsing

Isn’t it interesting that within a couple of months these three companies miraculously stated their systems are driverless or L4 in micro-operational design domains? And not only do none of them provide ANY meaningful proof of doing so or the systems are remotely safe, Waymo is suing the California DMV to avoid providing the scant data set they are asking for. And in a deafening show of support NO ONE in the industry, not AV makers, industry associations like PAVE, the press or the government, has said Waymo’s suit is wrong, that the data the sate is asking for should be provide, the IP excuse is BS and they should go beyond what the CA DMV is asking for an provide real proof. (Those are listed below). That silence is tacit support.

If these folks actually attained L4 why wouldn’t they leap to provide it? Not only to build trust where there is little (largely due to brutally transparent conduct like this) or to differentiate themselves from others. The answer is, they are lying. They are lying and misleading the public in hopes a miracle will come before they start injuring or killing people to learn crash scenarios they are disengaging away from now or cashing out in a SPAC, IPO or buyout.

(Recently I testified at a Kansas senate hearing on how misleading and grossly negligent Gatik had been in their testimony. You know what happened next? Crickets. Why would Gatik not respond to what I said? Because they can’t and do not want to create more discovery for future lawsuits. My testimony is in my first article below.)

Data required to provide proof of L4

· List of learned scenarios, especially crash scenarios with details

· Disengagement data with likely crashes designated, including simulation

· Proof of all simulation model fidelity, especially sensors

Below are a couple articles that explain my POV in more detail.
