Tesla “autopilot” Creates Fake Traffic Lights

A Tesla in “autopilot” was following a truck carrying inoperable traffic lights. The camera-based Tesla system mistook these for actual traffic lights. Tesla’s have also been known to create fake objects, like people, cars, stop signs etc, when they are painted on bus or trailer murals. If the system had a radar, LiDAR or could discern object location, especially creating tracks like a radar, or used HD Maps it would be able to figure out the lights were not operational.
Clearly this is reckless and dangerous. But apparently not enough for NHTSA to do a thing about. But no fear, Tesla will be L5 any minute now.
Oh. . .and what happened to the “6 9s” Tesla highway AP version Elon said he had weeks ago?
As I have said ad nauseam, Tesla nor anyone else relying on the real-world, human Guinea pigs and gaming-based simulation will get remotely close to L4 on public roads. Harm or kill many more people needlessly. And it’s all avoidable.
